“TELL MY LOVER I’M A POET AT NIGHT" is Matteo Boetti’s second book. Like the first one, it is published in the Nova section of the Emblemata series, by Edizioni Essegi, Ravenna
The book is divided into three parts. In the first and third part, Matteo Boetti resumes his dialogue with the female world through poetry. No longer just his mother, who however is present and is often evoked, but woman.
Here Matteo unveils his many faces – there’s the “Umbrian cowboy” who makes an early start with his horses; there’s his poetry (and the poets and writers whom he constantly quotes); and there’s his life as a gallerist, and as singer and composer for his rock bands.
Then come the poets, critics and loved ones, whom he asked to write a text about him or his mother Annemarie. And, in the spirit of Boetti, he asked for 11 contributions, to which he added the last letter he received from his mother and from Jean Christophe Amman. These two parts of the book contain black and white images of Alighiero, Annemarie and Matteo Boetti. There are also photographs of his children, friends, horses and music groups. In the central part of the book, Matteo presents the works of artists he works with, or worked in the past: 27 artists, each represented by 1 color work. In addition, we find some of his childhood sketches, and others by Annemarie, from before she met Alighiero. The paper used is Revive white offset gr 140 and Garda Matt gr 130. The book was printed at Grafiche Morandi, Fusignano (Ravenna). Each 196-page volume has a paperback binding, A4 size, and is published in 810 copies, all numbered and signed by Matteo Boetti.
The book was printed in April 2018.
